E4S is one of PESO’s two cornerstone software products: a curated, version-compatible portfolio of DOE-relevant scientific libraries and tools, built with Spack and validated through ecosystem-level continuous integration and interoperability testing.
- Release cadence: E4S publishes two major releases each year, timed with the U.S. and International Supercomputing Conferences.
- A shared integration environment: Software stewarded across FASTMath, RAPIDS, S4PST, STEP, CORSA, and PESO is built and tested together under representative configurations, rather than in isolation.
- A real destination, not just a list: The E4S website, Learning Portal, and Quickstart Guide are core PESO deliverables — the primary place users, facility staff, developers, and vendors go for documentation and support.
PESO’s role in E4S. E4S curation is coordinated directly with CASS governance and working groups — Integration, Software Quality Assurance, Impact Framework, Metrics, and User-Developer Experience — with PESO personnel participating so that packaging decisions stay aligned with the ecosystem’s broader goals. Sameer Shende (University of Oregon) leads E4S under PESO.
